I first learned of Glowbiotics through Skinspirit, a clinic I often to go to for all things skin related that carries the line. I’ve also become friends with and/or follow online a lot of the Skinspirit team who often rave about different Glowbiotics product. I started buying and trying products, fell in love, and have since started working with them which has allowed me to try out even more products.

As I’ve been writing about the products on @skincarethatilike I’ve gotten a handful of DMs from people who want to place an order, but first want a complete list of all the different products I’ve tried. So, as always, your wish is my command! Here’s a list of everything I am current using, plus my thoughts on each them.

About Glowbiotics

For those not already familiar with Glowbiotics, let’s start there. As I said above, they’re a medical grade probiotic skincare line. I'm sure you know probiotics are important for gut health, but did you know they can benefit your skin too? They act as a protective shield, strengthen your skin's ability to repair itself, help with collagen production, and reduce inflammation which in turn limits flare-ups and helps prevent aging. Glowbiotics products include a potent blend of prebiotics, probiotics, antioxidants, and nutrients formulated to deliver proven results. And you know I love proven results!

Probiotic Revitalizing Cleanser

This cleanser is the first product I ever tried from Glowbiotics and the reason I fell in love with the brand. I initially started using it when I was having some bad breakouts. I follow a lot of dermatologists and estheticians on Instagram and kept seeing them recommend it for people struggling with acne so I decided to give it a try. The verdict: it works! I've been using it consistently ever since and have re-purchased it 3 or 4 times now. I cleanse with it twice a day everyday.

This Probiotic Revitalizing Cleanser is perfect for all skin types and is not specifically an acne product (that’s just an added bonus!). It removes impurities without stripping the skin, leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth, adds radiance, firms, brightens, and hydrates! Can you think of any other acne-fighting cleanser that hydrates?! Doubt it. It contains prebiotics, probiotics, and a bunch of other powerful ingredients like smart peptide 189 (anti-aging), vitamin E, lauric acid (antimicrobial, helps retain moisture), and aloe vera (soothes, calms inflammation).

They also have a Probiotic Acne Treatment Cleanser which I've bought and tried too. It's specifically developed as an acne-fighting cleanser and not ideal for super dry skin types so I personally like the Revitalizing Cleanser more, but if you are on the oilier side it might be a better fit for you. Probiotic Nourishing Gel to Oil Cleanser

I swear by double cleansing (cleansing first with an oil cleanser, followed by a water-based cleanser) and this is Glowbiotics’ oil cleanser. It’s super unique in that it’s a gel that turns into an oil, instead of a cream/balm to oil like all of the others I’ve tried.

It removes makeup, dirt, and other impurities without stripping your skin thanks to the inclusion of nourishing probiotics, essential oils, and key antioxidants! If you aren’t already double cleansing every night, you should definitely order this cleanser ASAP.

Probiotic HydraGlow Cream Oil

I don’t want to play favorites but this product was basically made for me. I mean, it’s called “HydraGlow”. I could tell just by looking at this product that there was a 0% chance I wouldn't love it, and no surprise, I do. Possibly the most but, again, I don’t want to play favorites.

If you follow me on either of my Instagram accounts (@ckanani and @skincarethatilike) you've already heard this, but on Friday I was walking around Trader Joes blasting music in my headphones when a sweet old grandpa approached me. I thought he was going to ask me something about the produce but instead he said "I'm too old to hit on you, but you have the loveliest skin I've ever seen". It was the sweetest thing, but I was truly shocked because (1) I don't think I've ever had a man notice my skin before and (2) I showered after my Barry’s workout and didn't put a drop of makeup on. A few hours later it finally clicked that it was because I had put this cream oil on!

Probiotic Hydraglow Cream Oil is a treatment designed to strengthen, hydrate, and rebuild the skin with something they call their Balancing Complex (translation: a fancy combo of probiotics, prebiotics, and antioxidants). It uses Kakadu Plum (a very potent form of vitamin C from Australia) to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, while brightening and improving skin tone. And, my favorite part, it has a blend of light reflecting minerals to give you an illuminating healthy glow. Not in a sparkly, glittery way but in a glowy, healthy, youthful, natural way. Just ask my Trader Joes friend.

There are countless illuminating makeup products that aim to make you glowy AF (I should know since I own like 110% of them), but none of them come with the additional professional skincare perks like this does. So, no surprise, I highly recommend.

UPDATE: There’s a new Hydraglow BRONZE option, omg! I haven’t tried it yet but I’ve never been more excited about a product release. I’ll keep you posted! Click here to check it out.

Probiotic Instant Resurfacing Pads

I'm a huge fan of peel pads/resurfacing pads/brightening pads/any kind of exfoliant pads and have been using them consistently for at least 5 years. Along the way I’ve tried countless different ones — Dr. Dennis Gross, some that my cosmetic dermatologist makes and sells, Arcona, Somme Institute, Sanitas, Neogen, you name it. The benefits differ by brand but the gist is usually that they exfoliate, provide radiance, and help to even skin tone and texture.

For the past few weeks I've been testing out these Probiotic Instant Resurfacing Pads. They're ideal for all skin types and use what they call a "one of a kind pH balanced formula" of probiotics and antioxidant protection. They provide instant radiance, revealing fewer fine lines, wrinkles, pores, and blemishes, balance the good vs. bad bacteria on the skin, decrease pigmentation, and gently exfoliate.

And I've decided I'm going to buy and continue to use these ones moving forward! Why?

  • Most (all?) of the others I've tried are very drying, to the point that I can't even use them in the morning because I can only survive them with the help of a heavy night cream. These Glowbiotics ones have lots of hydrating ingredients which seem to help balance out any potentially drying effects. Their balancing complex (probiotic, prebiotic, antioxidant) also helps protect against other irritations by reducing inflammation and redness, acting as a protective shield, etc. so I get more radiant skin without any side effects.

  • The container is perfect. So many of the others weigh a ton or are HUGE which isn't ideal for travel (or even for carrying in my gym bag). It's also not single use packaging (good for travel but horrible for the environment) and there's only one pad to use so you don't need two containers (some of them require a second step). This might be a small perk for some but for me it's very important.

  • The price point!!! The Glowbiotics ones are way less expensive and Dr. Dennis Gross isn't sold in med spas/skincare clinics/etc. so I think we know which are better 😉

I definitely recommend giving them a try, whether it's now or once you finish using your current ones from a different brand!

There’s a newer, stronger version now if those are too mild for you! I love them. Click here to check those out.

Prefer a physical exfoliant? Go for the Probiotic Volcanic and Enzyme Polish. Click here for that.

Probiotic Brightening + Refining Layering Solution

After I cleanse I almost always use some kind of toner and this brightening + refining layering solution is something I’ve been using for awhile now. I alternate between this and the above mentioned pads.

A lot of exfoliating solutions are too harsh for those of us with dry skin which is why I LOVE Glowbiotics’ options. I have incredibly dry skin yet I never experience over-drying from this or any of their products. This product will:

  • Gently exfoliate and reinforce healthy cell turn over process

  • Brighten natural skin tones- lighten red & brown unwanted pigment

  • Retexturize skin surface and smooth pore size

  • Help with oil control

  • Properly pH balanced for skin

Calming Restorative Treatment

Another product I’ve been loving is the Calming Restorative Treatment. It’s a hydrating serum that’s great for all skin types, even those with sensitive or irritated skin. Post-treatment it’s supposed to be especially great, as it helps to alleviate discomfort caused by peels, lasers, etc. I haven’t tried it after a treatment yet and to be honest I thought I’d save it to do so but I love it too much and can’t stop using it!

It’s got a handful of perks including being soothing, calming, and hydrating. It also helps reduce redness, making it a good choice for people with rosacea. If you’re looking to boost collagen (who isn’t?), it contains "growth factor-mimicking peptides and skin tighteners” (wow!) to help with that. The consistency of it is lovely too - it literally just melts right into your skin.

Some of the key ingredients include probiotics, Smart Peptide 239 & 240 (so smart that they are time released to work when the skin needs it and "turn on" the skin's natural production of essential anti-aging proteins like collagen and elastin), hyaluronic acid (one of my favorite skincare ingredients! It’s moisturizing, plumping, smoothing, and more), SymCalmin® (anti-itch, anti-inflammatory), and Skin Tightener ST™ (proven to immediately lift the skin!).

Advanced Anti-aging Replenishing Oil

As someone with dry skin, I’ve never met an oil I didn’t like. So, again no surprise here, I love this.

The Advanced Anti-aging Replenishing Oil is great for people with dry, compromised, mature, and dehydrated skin. It contains a Superfood Botanical Oil Complex which is a mixture of “nature’s most nutrient dense and skin mimetic botanical oils rich in a full array of omega fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants that help restore balance to the skin”. It’s hydrating, designed to prevent water loss, reduce inflammation and redness, stimulate collagen, and restore your skin’s lipid barrier to make skin firmer, softer, and well nourished.

Probiotic Instant Refreshing Gel Hydrator

One of my friends who works at Skinspirit absolutely raves about is this Probiotic Instant Refreshing Gel Hydrator. After hearing about it soo many times from her, I asked (blindly, I will admit) the Glowbiotics team to send one over for me to try.

This product I like, but I do not love. And that’s 100% my own fault. My skin is dry (sometimes very dry) and this is for oily skin or combination skin. Not for dry skin, not even for normal skin! Plus it is winter so it’s an even worse time for me to be testing it out because my skin is even drier than normal. It does feel lovely on my skin but for my dry skin it’s not enough (because, again, it’s not made for dry skin).

If you have oily or combo skin, I’m sure you’d love it! Especially because Rachael loves it and her skincare opinions are almost as fantastic as mine ;) It’s an incredibly lightweight gel that sinks into your skin immediately, making it feel like you’ve put nothing on (to me at least). It calms and soothes irritated skin, hydrates and restores your skin’s barrier, and has anti-acne and anti-inflammatory effects.

Probiotic Firming + Replenishing Lotion

Probiotic Firming + Replenishing Lotion is a moisturizer for my actual skin type, unlike the one above, and I love it! Imagine that. It’s ideal not just for dry skin but also for normal and for those with concerns of fine lines and wrinkles, sagging, and hormonal acne.

It contains probiotics (of course), evening primrose oil (antioxidant, hydrating, anti-inflammatory), hyaluronic acid (hydrating, plumping, smoothing), Sepilift® DPHP (hydrating, reduces lines and wrinkles), shea butter (hydrating), SYN®-COLL (stimulates collagen production), vitamin E (antioxidant), and more. They call it lightweight but as someone with dry skin that term turns me off a bit. I won’t argue since they’re the experts but if you’re like me, just know that it’s heavy enough to be good for dry skin. It makes my skin feel so plump, hydrated, and smooth every night.

(You can use both AM and PM but I’ve been using it only at night since I don’t need the extra moisture in the morning)

Probiotic Shower Gel Citrus Coconut

I've been testing out the new Probiotic Shower Gel for many months now and cannot say enough good things about it. I find that with most products, when I get out of the shower my skin feels excessively dry. But when I use this I notice a major difference -- that my skin isn't completely parched even after a long, hot shower. That's because it contains probiotics and vitamin E to balance and calm irritated skin. The probiotics act as a protective shield and "strengthen your skin's ability to renew its natural glow" (wow), while the vitamin E hydrates, reduces redness, and locks in hydration.

It's great for all skin types, including (and maybe especially) dry and sensitive skin.

Probiotic Hand and Body Lotion Citrus Coconut

After using the Probiotic Shower Gel, I apply the Probiotic Body Lotion once I hop out of the shower and dry off. It's a probiotic body lotion that hydrates, reduces redness, repairs, calms, strengthens, stimulates collagen, and more.

The description on their site says it quickly melts into the skin which, as someone with very dry skin, is usually my worst nightmare. In my experience, quickly melting into the skin usually translates to lightweight and has benefits for five minutes at most. My skin is dry, eczema prone, redness prone, etc. - I have to take reaaaaally good care of it in order for it to look decent. And as you can tell if you follow me on @skincarethatilike, I'm more of a thick cream or oil type of gal.

But to my surprise, this *is* lightweight, does melt right into your skin, yet it provides long lasting hydration and makes your skin feel SO good and so nourished. My mom has similar skin and is also picky AF so I had her try it also so I could make sure I wasn't crazy. And she's obsessed with it too!

Because it's lightweight with killer ingredients, it's great for all skin types - yes, even dry and sensitive. It has a light citrus coconut scent that's subtle enough for me. Definitely give it a try if you haven't already!
