SkinCeuticals Review and Favorite Products (+15% off)

SkinCeuticals has been, hands down, my favorite skincare line for the past 5+ years. It’s the reason my skin looks the way it does, the number one product line I recommend to anyone and everyone, and something I cannot imagine living without.

Because it’s so dang awesome, it rarely goes on sale, and when it does it’s usually a secret. Like today, for example! The entire SkinCeuticals line is 15% off (secretly!). Click here to shop the sale using the secret code “SKINC15”.

As I was posting about the sale product by product on @skincarethatilike it occurred to me I didn’t have one central blog post full of all my favorite SkinCeuticals products together! My Glowbiotics Review and Favorite Products post has been a hit, so it seemed like a no brainer to do the same for my ride or die SkinCeuticals.

So without further ado, here is a full list of all my favorite SkinCeuticals products!

About SkinCeuticals

SkinCeuticals is a medical grade skincare line backed by proven science. If you want to prevent aging, actually correct skin issues, and see guaranteed results, this advanced skincare is for you.

Important note: buying these products from an authorized reseller is INCREDIBLY important. Do not buy this on Amazon or anywhere else that is not an authorized reseller. Counterfeit formulas not only often have diluted formulas but they can be dangerous to your health. No joke - this woman fell into a coma after using a tainted wrinkle cream. All of the products I have linked are from verified authorized resellers.

SkinCeuticals Review and Favorite Products

SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic

SKIN TYPES: Dry, Normal, Sensitive
SKIN CONDITION: Sensitized, Dehydrated, Discolorations, Aging

Vitamin C, often referred to as the holy grail of skincare ingredients, is one of the most powerful and effective antioxidants in existence. Just like vitamin C is great for overall wellness (hello, Emergen-C), it is an essential step in any skincare routine. It is the main thing I credit my so-called great skin to.

But what exactly makes vitamin C so worthy of being called the holy grail skincare ingredient?

  • It protects you from the environment (free radicals caused by sunlight, cigarette smoke, and pollution)

  • It reduces visible signs of aging (the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness)

  • It is brightening

  • It improves an uneven skin tone and prevents skin discoloration

  • It promotes collagen production

Sounds amazing? It is. And because vitamin C has so much buzz around it, everything, or so it seems, contains it now — products at Sephora, products at department stores, even products at the drug store. But before you go running to the store to grab a vitamin C product, it is incredibly important to know that not all vitamin C products are created equal.

The vitamin C serum I personally use is SkinCeuticals C. E. Ferulic. When it comes to skincare, there is no product I recommend more. I have been using it religiously for at least five years and it is the product that has had the largest impact on my skin.

Don’t just take my word for it though. It’s a cult favorite amongst the entire beauty community, has won tons of awards, is the number one vitamin C seller on Dermstore, and is backed by proven science. I cannot stress that enough. There is no doubt this product is effective because it is backed by actual proof which means you will not be wasting your money.

And speaking of money, this serum isn’t cheap. But it is effective and it is powerful. In fact, it is, according to their site, the only brand to formulate antioxidants according to the above mentioned parameters required to effectively deliver vitamin C to the skin! And because it is a highly potent medical grade product, you only need to use 4-5 drops of it every morning. Just 4-5! That’s nothing.

So while it might be more expensive than other options, it will last longer which makes it cost basically the same thing. Plus it actually works… Have I mentioned that yet?! So what the heck is SkinCeuticals C. E. Ferulic and why is it so great? The name stands for vitamin C (C), vitamin E (E), and ferulic acid (Ferulic) - C. E. Ferulic. It contains 15% pure L-ascorbic acid, 1% vitamin E, 0.5% ferulic acid, and a pH below 3.5. Vitamin E and ferulic acid are both antioxidants and it’s been scientifically proven that the three combined protect the skin better than vitamin C alone. The latter two also help to keep the vitamin C stable. Once it is absorbed, this serum remains effective for a minimum of 72 hours.

When it comes to anti-aging, there is nothing better! Give it a try if you have not already.

SkinCeuticals Resveratrol B E

SKIN TYPES: Dry, Normal, Combination, Sensitive
SKIN CONDITION: Aging

Resveratrol B E is a nighttime antioxidant serum. In the morning I use C E Ferulic as my antioxidant serum, and at night I use this.

Resveratrol might not be something you've heard of because it hasn't become a big marketing buzzword yet (hi, vitamin C and hyaluronic acid 👀), but it has powerful antioxidant and anti-aging properties with a proven ability to penetrate the skin barrier. It works to strengthen your skin’s antioxidant defense system to help neutralize free radicals. Free radicals come from things like pollution, smog, dust, cigarette smoke, the sun! They dramatically speed up aging - this is why it's so important to use antioxidant serums. And not just any antioxidant serums, but ones that can penetrate the skin and actually protect you.

In addition to the resveratol, it contains vitamin E and baicalin which are also antioxidants. The baicalin has calming properties and helps protect skin from environmental aggressors, and the pure vitamin E also offers protection along with replenishing skin's lipids. The end result is increased firmness, radiance, and brighter and smoother skin. I've been using it consistently for 5+ years since my cometic dermatologist first told me to and I love it. Good for dry, normal, combination, and sensitive skin types!

Anti-aging Skin Care Routine

SKIN TYPES: Dry, Normal, Oily, Combination
SKIN CONDITION: Discolorations, Aging

If you want to save some money, this Anti-Aging Skincare Routine set is the way to go. It contains both of my favorite, can’t live without antioxidant serums, along with a great cream. It’s $481 worth of skincare for only $345.

OR — and I think this is a big mistake they did not catch because sets are never included — today it’s included in the Skinstore sale. This will save you $187.75!!! Insane. Use code “SKINC15”.

Blemish + Age Defense

SKIN TYPES: Oily, Combination
SKIN CONDITION: Acne, Aging

Yet another Skinceuticals product I love, their Blemish + Age Defense serum. It's a face serum specifically formulated to reduce adult acne, AND improve visible signs of aging! It's got dioic acid to reduce excess sebum production, LHA to exfoliate, refine, and decongest pores, salicylic acid to reduce the formation of acne, and glycolic acid + citric acid to smooth skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. If you're an adult and struggling with breakouts, I highly recommend.

Micro-Exfoliating Scrub

SKIN TYPES: Dry, Normal, Oily, Combination
SKIN CONDITION: Dehydrated, Discolorations, Aging

Let's talk about exfoliating! Almost nothing feels better to me than scrubbing the hell out of my skin. You gotta be careful what you use though, especially on your face, since you can do a lot of damage with the wrong product (hello, St. Ives apricot scrub).

SkinCeuticals' Micro-exfoliating Scrub is, not shockingly, one of my favorites. Why do I love this? It's gentle enough for everyday use. I have dry skin so I probably exfoliate more than the average person. And while I don't do it everyday, I like that I *could* if I wanted to with this one. It is hydrating (something I don't find in most physical exfoliants), smoothing (safely - this is key), and texture improving. Despite being fairly mild, it does a pretty good job scrubbing dead skin away. It even has an approachable price point ($31).

Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier Hydrating Serum

SKIN TYPES: Dry, Normal, Oily, Combination, Sensitive
SKIN CONDITION: Dehydrated, Aging

If you are looking to deeply hydrate your skin, this serum will do the trick. It contains pure hyaluronic acid which might sound scary but in reality is a magical substance that is naturally-occurring in skin and can hold 1000x its weight in moisture.

Confused? Basically it deeply hydrates, reduces the look of fine lines, and makes your skin plump and smooth AF. It’s one of their best selling products for a reason! I use it in the AM between C E Ferulic and SPF, and in the PM after retinol.

Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50

SKIN TYPES: Dry, Normal, Combination, Sensitive
SKIN CONDITION: Sensitized, Discolorations, Aging

My favorite tinted SPF is SkinCeuticals’ Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50. It is incredibly lightweight and has what they call a universal tint to enhance your skin tone and boost radiance. Because of the tint, on many days I don’t apply anything to my skin (no makeup) after it. It’s also incredibly reasonably priced, especially for a SkinCeuticals product!

Note: this is an SPF, not a moisturizer. It’s to protect you from cancer causing rays!

Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2

SKIN TYPES: Dry, Normal, Oily, Combination, Sensitive
SKIN CONDITION: Dehydrated, Aging

Triple Lipid Restore is the cream I use every night. It is incredibly nourishing and anti-aging. It restores the skin's external barrier, improves fullness, texture, pore appearance, skin evenness, radiance, elasticity, moisture levels, you name it! If you're having trouble ramping up on retinol, this has been scientifically proven to shorten the adjustment period. It's a must and is easily one of my favorite Skinceuticals products! I literally look forward to doing my night routine because of this.

A.G.E. Eye Complex for Dark Circles

SKIN TYPES: Dry, Normal
SKIN CONDITION: Aging

A.G.E. Eye Complex is an eye cream, of course! Prior to discovering this I had tried what seemed like a million different eye creams but never cared for any of them. If you’ve been on the hunt for a good one, this is a great option to try.

It is specifically designed to fight the appearance of crow’s feet, dark circles, and puffiness, issues that almost all of us deal with! It contains “optical diffusers” which work to diffuse light and immediately improve tired, dull-looking eyes. The cream consistency is very silky and literally melts into your skin upon application — I love it so much!

Hydrating B5 Hyaluronic Acid Gel Moisturizer

SKIN TYPES: Dry, Normal, Oily, Combination, Sensitive
SKIN CONDITION: Sensitized, Dehydrated, Acne, Aging

Hydrating B5 Gel is the one and only SkinCeuticals product I tried and didn’t completely fall in love at first sight with, if I’m being honest! But it is one of the best selling products consistently across every site + my friend Rachael who has almost all the same skincare opinions as I do raved about it for long that I decided to give it another shot. And guess what? I LOVE IT. She suggested trying it prior to C E Ferulic instead of after like their site suggests and that made a big difference for me.

Hydrating B5 Gel is hydrating serum that deeply replenishes moisture and restores radiance. It is oil free so it won’t clog pores, making it ideal for acne prone skin. You can use it on its own or along side a daily moisturizer.

Biocellulose Restorative Mask

SKIN TYPES: Dry, Normal, Oily, Combination, Sensitive
SKIN CONDITION: Sensitized, Dehydrated

My favorite sheet mask of literally ALL TIME. If you have any treatments scheduled (microneedle, peels, lasers, etc.) these sheet masks are an absolute MUST.

Back around the holidays I had a microneedling appointment at SkinSpirit and the SkinCeuticals team sent me one of these to test out post-treatment. To be totally honest, I thought it was BS prior to using because the ingredient list is a bit underwhelming to say the least. Fast forward to my face being on fire and this gem of a sheet mask providing immediate relief when literally nothing else would. No joke - it turned a *very* uncomfortable situation around immediately.

It’s made of biocellulose fibers infused with heat-reducing water to cool and soothe irritation, specifically designed for post-procedure skin! I still don’t fully comprehend why/how it is so amazing but just trust me on this one… I’m personally never getting any kind of treatment again without a box of these on-hand. It’s life changing. You’ll look super cute, too! ;)

SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5 Refining Night Treatment

SKIN TYPES: Normal, Oily, Combination
SKIN CONDITION: Discolorations, Acne, Aging

Retinoids are an essential part of any skincare routine. They're anti-aging, improve uneven skin tone, promote cell turnover, improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve the appearance of blemishes, and more. If you're not already familiar and you want more info, click here for my very detailed blog post on the three most important skincare products (and why).

If you *are* already familiar but aren't yet using one, this product is a great place to start (especially since it's included in the secret Skinceuticals sale)! SkinCeuticals retinols are available in three different strengths — 0.3%, 0.5%, and 1%. If you are new to retinol you should start with 0.3. It is designed specifically for first-time users as a prerequisite to SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5. Once you have ramped up on Retinol 0.3, you can then move onto Retinol 0.5 and eventually Retinol 1.0. If you have used retinoids before you may be able to start with one of the stronger ones instead.
