Yes, brand new arrivals. Not the end of season crap no one wanted at a discount, but brand new arrivals. THE best and biggest sale of the year!

It is the sale I most look forward to every year and by far the time I spend the most money stocking up on essentials, new trends, and more. If this isn’t already on your radar, it needs to be.

Whether you’re a seasoned Anniversary Sale vet like I am or brand new to this marvelous savings fiasco, here is everything you need to know:

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicks off on July 12 at 12:30pm EST for those of us with early access! During Early Access, Nordstrom cardholders get to shop the Anniversary Sale a full week before the general public.

Is early access important? Yes. I literally shop the second the sale starts at 12:30pm because the best stuff sells out right away. These items generally do not restock and if they do it’s after the sale ends. So shopping Early Access is incredibly important!

Don’t have a Nordstrom Credit Card? No worries, it is not too late! Click here to apply. Once approved, you can instantly sign in to access your card online or through the Nordstrom app to start shopping right away. The card I have has no annual fee so in my opinion there’s really no reason not to get one!

CARDIGANS

My number one Nordstrom Anniversary Sale recommendation is the Barefoot Dreams Circle Cardigan which will be $76.90 instead of it’s normal $116. If you haven’t tried anything by Barefoot Dreams yet, I cannot stress this enough — you NEED this.

I bought it last year and have lived in it on a weekly basis ever since. I never, ever travel without it and I mention it on almost every blog post on this site. Because of this it is one of my top sellers every month, even at its full price of $116.

DO NOT MISS THIS WHILE IT IS DISCOUNTED! It almost never goes on sale. Last year if I remember correctly it sold out incredibly fast so, again, you must shop Early Access!

SWEATERS

Because the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is all brand new arrivals, the majority of items are fall-focused. Because of this sweaters are of course huge!

So far this year I’m loving the oversize Topshop sweater (click here to shop that), the Vince Mixed Cable sweater with a mock turtleneck (click here to shop that), and the Madewell Ryder Cardigan in both yellow and pink (click here to shop that).

TOPS

DRESSES

There’s a bunch of great dress options each year. This year so far it looks to be a ton of floral dresses that, to be honest, I am not loving. But one thing I am loving is the BP midi slipdress in leopard. Click here to shop that!

BOOTS

Boots are a top seller every single Anniversary Sale and I’m sure this year will be no different! Expect to see heavily discounted knee-highs, western-inspired, and even some returning customer faves like these and these.

JEANS

The Anniversary Sale is the perfect time to stock up on some new denim. I buy at least a pair or two every time because the savings are huge, especially if you buy designer jeans. My three favorite jean brands, which I believe are definitely worth the splurge, are AG, FRAME, and Rag and Bone. Because I think they’re worth every penny I often buy them at full price ($220+), but if I can grab them on discount, even better. And to my delight, all three are included in this year’s sale!

On my list/what I recommend from the sale so far: AG High Waist Ankle Skinny for $149.90 ($225 after sale) and AG Prima Ankle Cigarette jeans for $149.90 ($225 after sale).

COATS

Coats are a highly sought after item during the Anniversary Sale because the typically high price points means huge savings! A quick peak at the Nordstrom catalog makes it clear that coats, especially in plaid, are not missing this year.

I especially love the periwinkle lightweight long coat by Vince Camuto on sale for $105.90 ($159 after sale) and the Halogen Bold Plaid Coat on sale for $169.90 ($259 after sale). Click here to preview that!

If you’re looking for something more casual, like a rain jacket or a puffy winter coat, there are a lot of great North Face options. We’ve been buying and wearing North Face jackets since middle school and have always found them to be excellent quality! Here are my recommendations:

ACTIVEWEAR

Activewear is another category that has great options every Anniversary Sale. If you haven’t tried Alo leggings yet, you absolutely must. They are my favorite of all time. Click here for the high waist moto Alo leggings included in the sale.

Everyone raves about Zella leggings, too. These Zella Sunday High Waist Ankle Leggings on sale for $42.90 ($65 after sale) look like a great option!

INTIMATES

If you are in the market for a bra, this is the time to grab it! The insanely popular Natori feathers bra will be on sale in new colors ($44.90 on sale vs. $68 after sale). If you haven’t tried it already, I highly recommend it. It’s a top seller on almost every site and has 2.7K almost 5-star reviews on Nordstrom alone. Click here to check it out!

PAJAMAS

There are usually some great pajamas on major discount during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. These super popular Nordstrom Moonlight Pajamas are almost guaranteed to be included (they always are). The Moonlight Short Pajamas are for sure included — on sale for $35.90 vs. $55 after sale. I’m going to get them in the mauve-y lavender color for my Paris trip next month!

BEAUTY

The makeup and haircare options are unreal this year! Including my favorite lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury, my favorite peel pads from Dr. Gross, my favorite styling products from Oribe, and more!
