What to Buy

First let’s talk about Charlotte Tilbury. I’ve bought and used a few of their products over the years but a few months ago I got sucked into a YouTube vortex and watched way too many of their videos. As someone who loves skincare and does not love makeup, I love that their stuff is so natural, glowy, and youthful looking. I ended up buying hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of product — all of which I love and use anytime I do my makeup!

If natural, glowy, and youthful looking sounds appealing to you, I highly recommend checking them out if you have not already. Below I list my favorite new finds. They also have an amazing YouTube channel and Instagram account. If you explore either of them and walk away empty handed I will be shocked to say the least.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter is my favorite product right now, hands down. They call it “a liquid tinted complexion booster for a superstar youthful glow“. You can use it as a primer, a highlighter, or on its own as I often do. It really is like an Instagram filter in real life. If you love glowy skin, this is an absolute must. Click here to shop

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Duo is another can’t-live-without product of mine. I used to be ride or die for the Kat Von D Shade + Light Face Contour Palette (which I still think is great) but it’s not exactly ideal for travel because it is huge. It also contains six different colors, which as an extremely amateur makeup user I definitely do not need. As with all things Charlotte Tilbury, this contour duo is natural looking (see highlight in attached photo) and buildable. Click here to shop

Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte's Genius Under Eye & Face Magic Powder is a loose powder that blurs imperfections, veils shadows, and visibly boosts radiance. As someone with dry skin, I despise powders because they dry me out even more, but this one is great! Click here to shop

Charlotte Tilbury The Feline Flick Liquid Eyeliner is CT’s calligraphy pen inspired eyeliner. I have used and loved the Charlotte Tilbury Rock ’N Kohl Eyeliner Pencil for years. That one is perfect for a smudgy, smokey look, whereas this one is great a perfectly clean smudge-proof line. The Charlotte Tilbury team sent me it to try out and I’ve been surprised at how often I reach for it now! Click here to shop

Touch in Sol Metallist Sparkling Foiled Eye Shadow (in the first two photos above) is something I mentioned in my Sephora Spring Sale What’s in my Cart post. I bought it in April during that sale like I said and have been loving it. Every single time I wear it I get asked about it repeatedly. It’s an incredibly quick and easy way to spice up any eye look - especially since I use my finger to apply it. Click here to shop

Sephora Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in 01 Always Red is the best red lipstick ever. Since fall and the holidays are rapidly approaching (crazy, I know) it seemed like the perfect time to mention this. If you don’t already have a red lipstick you love, get this immediately! Click here to shop

Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer is another item I bought during the Sephora Spring Sale in April. It’s the number one primer at all of Sephora and I can see why. I was nervous about the purchase because it claims to minimize shine and, as someone with dry skin, that’s a scary statement. But I’ve found it’s not drying and is actually great! Click here to shop

It’s also available as part of Tatcha’s Skincare For Makeup Lovers Set which is a great set. It includes a full size of my favorite Luminous Dewy Skin Mist which alone costs $49, so for $10 more you get their cleansing oil and primer, too! Click here to shop

OLEHENRIKSEN Cold Plunge Pore Mask is a bright turquoise, highly Instagrammable face mask (seen above)! Joking - kind of. It also has over 1K five star reviews and 40K loves, so everyone agrees it is more than just a pretty face. I’ve only tried to a few times (via sample), but it’s great. It does a lot of the same things as a clay mask while being less drying (again, I have dry skin). Detoxifying, cooling, smoothing, and oil controlling! click here to shop

Lightstim is a professional strength LED light therapy tool used for anti-aging or to treat acne. I own both and often get asked if they work. The answer is yes. In FDA clinical studies 100% of participants showed improvement in their fine lines and wrinkles in just 8 weeks. Blue LED light therapy has also been proven to be an effective treatment for acne. In fact, every time I get a facial they use some form of LED light therapy!

The one and only reason not to buy a Lightstim is if you won’t use it. It’s not something you can use once and be done - you’ve got to use it everyday in order for it to be effective. The good news is if you do commit the time, you will almost certainly see results! Click here to check out Lightstim for wrinkles and here for Lightstim for acne

Glow Recipe Pineapple-C Brightening Serum is a smoothing and brightening serum with Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, two of my favorite skincare ingredients! It smells a bit like pineapple that you left in a hot car for a few days, but if you can get passed that it’s very much worth it. Click here to shop

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil is yet another item I picked up during the Sephora Spring Sale and I love it. It’s a luxurious oil that brightens, firms, and evens skin tone. It contains, as the name says, Vitamin C (very important skincare ingredient) and Squalane which is rumored to be the best oil you can put on your face. I try a lot of oils that just end up just sitting on my face and never absorbing but this is not that. Highly recommend! Click here to shop

Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops is something I often recommend but it is unfortunately almost always sold out. It’s currently in stock, knock on wood, so I felt the need to include it here. They are tanning drops that you mix in with whichever moisturizer you use to add a bit of color. A piece of cake, and super helpful! Click here to see if they are somehow magically still in stock (I’m not kidding, these are ALWAYS sold out)

PS. I use the ‘dark’ ones, despite being incredibly pale. I heard the ‘light’ is incredibly orange, so at the very least get medium or dark! Trust me.

Amika Vandal Volume Powder Spray is pure magic. It’s a powder spray you apply to your roots or throughout your strands depending on what look you’re going for. It gives INSANE volume (no joke, I look like I have huge hair extensions when I have none - see photo) and texture. If you want voluminous hair, this is the number one product I recommend. Click here to shop

Amika Brooklyn Bombshell Blowout Volume Spray a heat protectant spray that also provides volume and texture. I am borderline obsessed with the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer, as are so many of you now, which is great! But in order to maintain healthy hair it is incredibly important to use a heat protectant, and this is my pick for it. Click here to shop

Olaplex products are something everyone should use, especially those with chemically processed hair. The product line was created by two of the top PhD's in chemistry and materials science (wow) and it reduces breakage and strengthens your hair from within. I most recommend the Hair Perfector No. 3, but the shampoo and conditioner are great too if you want to grab them all with the discount. Click here for the hair perfector treatment, here for shampoo, and here for conditioner

What’s in my Cart

In addition to re-buying everything I’m out of or almost out of, I’ve got the following things in my cart, ready to buy!

Summer Fridays Overtime Mask is something I had on my Sephora Spring Sale What’s in My Cart list but didn’t end up buying. Their Jet Lag mask is one of my favorite products, which should be reason enough to try out another item from them! It has an almost five star rating after hundreds of reviews, plus it contains pumpkin which SCREAMS fall so I’d say now is the time for me to pull the trigger. Click here to check it out

Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Face Palette is a limited edition palette featuring bronzer, brush, and highlighter said to give you a lit-from-within glow and a dreamy, rainbow-effect finish. It’s yet another CT product that has sucked me in after seeing it be used on their Instagram. Click here to check it out

Herbivore Emerald CBD + Adaptogens Deep Moisture Glow Oil is an oil with “100mg full-spectrum CBD, hemp seed oil, and adaptogens to visibly calm the look of redness and nourish skin with lasting hydration”. It’s specifically for dryness and dullness, two things I’m always aiming to beat. Click here to check it out

Farmacy Honey Grail Ultra-Hydrating Face Oil is something I’ve been dreaming of since I used the tester of it this morning after Soulcycle. It is incredibly hydrating, very reasonably priced, and has insane reviews! Seems like a must to me. Click here to check it out

Biossance 100% Squalane Oil is the squalane-only version of the Biossance oil I raved about above. My local Sephora doesn’t carry this so I did not know it existed when I bought the other but I thankfully just discovered it on their site while writing this!

If you don’t use a Vitamin C product already then you absolutely need the Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil version (again, can’t say enough how important Vitamin C is). But since I religiously use C. E. Ferulic I don’t need it, so just the squalane will do! To be honest I already ordered this - couldn’t even wait 6 days until the sale starts (lol).
